Centurion's range covers seven scenarios, not seven price points to pick between blindly. Work through these three questions before comparing anything else.
How much does your gate weigh?
Under 500kg keeps you in Vantage Smart+ or D5 Evo territory. Above that — up to 2,000kg — you're into the D10 or D20 for commercial and industrial gates.
How often does it open?
A handful of times a day suits the lighter end of the range. A busy household, office or shared driveway suits a motor built for sustained daily cycling, like the D5 Evo or D10.
Sliding or swing?
Sliding needs a clear run of wall or fence to travel along. Swing needs open space to sweep into. If you're not sure which your driveway allows, that's exactly what the site visit settles.

Vantage Smart+ 400
Sized for the swing gate most Kenyan homes actually have.
The lighter of the two Vantage motors, built for a standard single or double-leaf driveway gate that doesn't see heavy commercial traffic. The Smart+ control board sits inside the motor housing itself, which keeps wiring simple and programming straightforward on site.
Battery backup is included as standard, so the gate keeps working through a power cut rather than needing to be pushed open by hand — a genuinely useful feature given how often that happens across Kenya.

The same Vantage platform, stepped up for heavier leaves, longer driveways, or gates that open dozens of times a day rather than a handful — an office entrance, a shared driveway, or a busier estate gate.
Everything that matters for day-to-day reliability carries over from the Smart+ 400: the same onboard control board, the same battery-backup approach, the same straightforward on-site programming — just with more headroom for a heavier gate.

The entry point into the D-Series.
Built for light domestic sliding gates and driveways that don't see much traffic — a straightforward, dependable motor for a standard home gate rather than a busy commercial entrance.
The onboard Smart+ board keeps programming and fault-finding simple on site, and it's a sensible match for lighter infill — timber, light steel or mesh — rather than a heavy solid gate.

Puts a gate intercom on your phone, wherever you are.
A GSM intercom that lets a visitor call ahead and lets you open the gate from your phone — no landline, and no extra wiring back to the house.

Infrared Smart Safety Beams
The standard way to stop a closing gate from hurting anyone.
A photocell beam pair mounted either side of the gate's path. If something's in the way as the gate closes — a child, a pet, a parked car — the beam stops it before contact.
Most installers treat this as essential rather than optional on any gate that's anywhere near pedestrian traffic, and it's one of the first things we check on a repair or maintenance visit.

Questions worth asking before you decide
D5 Evo Smart+ or D6 Smart+ — how do I choose between them?
Gate weight is the deciding factor. If your leaf sits comfortably under 500kg, the D5 Evo Smart+ is the standard, well-proven choice. If it's heavier — solid steel infill, a longer run — the D6 Smart+ gives you headroom the D5 Evo isn't rated for.
Can Vantage Smart+ work on a single-leaf gate, or only double gates?
Both — it's specified per leaf, so a single-leaf swing gate uses one motor and a standard double-leaf gate uses two, one per side.
What happens if my gate is heavier than the D20's 2,000kg rating?
That moves into specialist industrial territory, which we handle with a different motor class and reinforced installation entirely. Tell us the actual weight during your site visit and we'll spec accordingly rather than force-fitting the wrong unit.
Do I really need the infrared safety beams?
If the gate is anywhere near a driveway used by pedestrians, children or pets, yes — they're the standard way to stop a closing gate from making contact with something in its path, and most installers treat them as essential rather than optional.
