Pre-Installation Checklist
Review these before booking. Our engineer confirms all points during assessment.
- Gate must be mounted on wheels (not dragged on ground)
- Gate must roll freely when pushed by hand
- Bottom rail must be structurally sound for rack welding/bolting
- Gate posts must be firmly set in concrete
- Wall space behind gate ≥ gate width + 500mm for motor overhang
- Motor area must be clear of obstruction (≥ 1m clearance)
- Level or near-level ground at motor position preferred
- Pedestrian gate for visitor access recommended
- 230V AC supply within 20m of motor position (we can extend)
- Dedicated circuit recommended (not shared with other loads)
- Earth leakage protection (ELCB/RCD) at distribution board
- We handle all final connections — no electrician required
- Gate weight calculated during site assessment
- Pre-existing rust or structural damage must be repaired first
- Previous motor removed or bypassed by our team

Yes — every package includes a 12V 7Ah backup battery providing 50–150 gate operations without mains power. For frequent or extended outages, add the solar backup kit (KSh 22,000) for indefinite off-grid operation. All gates include manual release.
Yes, in the vast majority of cases. Retrofitting onto an existing gate is one of our most common services. Requirements: gate must be on wheels, roll freely by hand, and have a structurally sound rail for rack attachment. Our engineer assesses during the free site visit.
It depends on your gate's actual weight and daily cycle count. Under 600kg and 10–20 cycles/day: D6 Smart. 600–1,000kg: D10 Smart. Over 1,000kg or commercial: industrial motor. We always physically calculate your gate's weight before recommending — never by estimation.
